Days 2&3 Tsavo East National
Park
Fly
to Tsavo East National Park where
you will be met by your Origins Safaris
Professional Guide and taken on a
short game drive to your luxury tented
camp on the banks of the seasonal
Galana River. Spend the next 2 days
walking and game-driving in this remote
expanse of dryland savannah and bush
– a haven for Elephant &
Rhino and prolific birdlife from birds
of prey to parrots, weavers, sunbirds
and rollers. This rustic luxury camp
is actively involved in supporting
the Black Rhino and Hunter's Hartebeest
(Hirola Antelope) conservation projects
inside the National Park.

4&5 Tsavo West National Park
Drive
across to the massive adjoining National
Park known as Tsavo West – spend
the next two days exploring this surprisingly
different landscape – much of
its wildlife congregates along the
banks of the Tsavo River, teeming
with crocodiles & hippo and, particularly
during the long dry season, the river
becomes a huge draw for many herds
of elephant. You stay at an
unobtrusive bush camp – well
run, comfortable and airy tents and
ideally located to explore the northern
area of the park and neighbouring
Chyulu Hills.

6&7 Amboseli National Park
After
a scenic drive across to Amboseli
National Park you arrive at the third
point of the massive Tsavo/Amboseli
eco-system, dominated by up close
views of snow-capped Kilimanjaro,
Africa's highest free-standing mountain.
Bordering Tanzania, Amboseli is one
of the most scenic of Kenya's wildlife
reserves. The principal attraction
of this Park is its vast herds of
Elephant, renowned for having the
heaviest ivory in Kenya. Lion, Leopard,
Cheetah, Buffalo and Maasai Giraffe
may all be seen in one morning's game
drive as well as hosts of plains game.
The park is home to the Amboseli Trust
for Elephants, run by veteran conservationist
and fundraiser Cynthia Moss. Your
base is Tortilis Camp, a charming
Italian-owned lodge, winner of the
British Airways award for Ecotourism
and awarded a place on the Conde Nast
Travellers Gold list in 2005. The
accommodation is elegantly styled
and spacious and the food is delicious
– authentic northern Italian
dishes blended with international
recipes.

Days 8-10 Maasai Mara National
Reserve
The
Mara is undoubtedly the jewel in the
crown of East Africa – forever
associated with vast numbers of game
and the unique spectacle of its wildebeest
migration unchanged for centuries.
You fly to the Mara and are transferred
to an extremely comfortable and well
located tented camp – ideal
for exploring what is undoubtedly
the world's finest wildlife spectacle
as the predators stalk the herds of
wildebeest, zebra, hartebeest, impala,
gazelle and the many other large mammals
who crowd the plains. From July to
October the incredible Great Migration
unfolds, as over a million wildebeest
join the resident herds in seach of
lush grazing, streaming across from
the Serengeti in Tanzania, preyed
on by the big cats and crocodiles
as they make the perilous river crossings.

Days 11&12 Lake Nakuru
National Park
After
bidding farewell to the extravagance
of the Maasai Mara you drive across
the floor of the Rift Valley to one
of its most famous soda lakes, home
to a million flamingos: Lake Nakuru.
This beautiful lakeside park
is famous for, and was created to
protect, its stunning flocks of Lesser
Flamingo – which literally turn
its shores pink. The park spans an
attractive range of wooded and bushy
grassland and is a successful sanctuary
for Rothschild Giraffe and Black and
White Rhino. The Big Cats are
easily found here – often by
looking upwards to see Lion and Leopard
ensconced in the tree branches. Origins
Safaris will host you in a traditional
seasonal tented safari camp –
an opportunity to enjoy a traditional
African safari with a true element
of history and adventure.

Days 13&14 Laikipia Plateau
& Mount Kenya
From
Nakuru you ascend to the foothills
of Mount Kenya, to a famous ranch
and conservancy on the Laikipia Plateau.
Rising above the surrounding lower
country Laikipia is recognized as
a gateway to the vastness of Kenya's
Northern Frontier District.
Superby walking country, Laikipia
is a haven for wildlife. Mount Kenya,
the country's highest mountain, dominates
the area and has huge cultural significance
for many tribes – its soaring
peaks, often snow-covered are he principal
home of Mungai (God) for the Kikuyu,
Meru and Kamba people. You will stay
at Ol Pejeta a 90,000 acre wilderness
and Rhino Sanctuary also host to Sweetwaters,
Jane Goodall's original chimpanzee
sanctuary on the edge of the conservancy.

Days 15-17 Samburu National
Reserve
You
drive from Laikipia into the Northern
Frontier District to Samburu land
home to the most northerly representatives
of Kenya's tribes who speak the Maa
language. The Samburu still adhere
to their traditional way of life as
nomadic pastoralists, co-existing
with the plentiful wildlife that ranges
across this arid and beautiful landscape.
Notable endemic species include
Grevy's Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Kudu,
Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and
Gerenuk. Samburu is famous
for its Leopard, Elephant and Crocodile
population and it's not uncommon to
see up to 100 species of birds in
a day, including the giant Martial
Eagle. Your base to explore the Reserve
and neighbouring Buffalo Springs and
Shaba reserves is Samburu Intrepids
– a well run tented lodge with
a welcome swimming pool to dust off
the day after a lengthy gamedrive.

Days 18-20 Manda Island, Lamu,
Indian Ocean
And
shaking the dust of Samburu from your
feet you fly to the other end of the
country and a step back in time to
the ancient port of Lamu. You will
be met from the aircraft and transferred
by boat to the luxurious and charming
resort of Manda Bay. This coastal
lodge is hidden away on the peaceful
island of Manda, set amongst lush
tropical vegetation and shaded by
palms on a beautiful empty stretch
of beach. For the next few days you
have nothing to do� except whatever
takes your fancy – watersports,
dhow trips, line fishing or just chilling
– good food, balmy climate and
simple barefoot fun.

Today
you depart by boat and plane back
to Nairobi – you will be met
and transferred to the conveniently
located Panari Hotel where a day room
is reserved. Later you will be transferred
